Trivia

General

  • The text in all the dialogue boxes in this level is centered, because every character, including Sheila and Moneybags, speaks in Haiku.
    • Interestingly enough, if Shiny is spoken to in Midday Gardens, his text is not centered despite still being in Haiku. This is likely an oversight.
  • It's possible to avoid paying Moneybags by using the water to get across to the end of the level. It is advised that Sparx should have at least one hit left before performing this though, as it is likely the player will take a point of damage from the piranhas.
  • Buson and Basho are named after the Edo period Haiku poets, Yosa Buson and Matsuo Bashō.
  • In Sheila the Kangaroo's sub-level, on the sign at the entrance it has "Come on in." written with a full-stop. In her other sub-levels, it's written with an exclamation mark.

Original Game

  • If you manage to complete Sheila's Alp without freeing her, then come to this realm, the sign next to the portal will be blank.
  • If the piracy detection is triggered on one of the PAL versions of the game, the language may change while the player is in this realm. The same may also occur in Frozen Altars.
  • In the April 25th prototype, the level is referred to as Swamp Party.

After the Sorceress' initial defeat and Spyro takes back his gems, Moneybags eventually retires here (somehow getting here via Crystal Islands) to become a haiku poet.

Reignited Trilogy

  • For some reason, the rocks in Sheila's sub-level do not re-spawn after being broken, making the challenge somewhat easier. The second firefly twin also takes a slightly different route to the route taken in the original game.
