Chameleons are enemies in Spyro: A Hero's Tail that are found only in Sparx Shooter's minigames.
They reappeared in Spyro: Shadow Legacy as common enemies in Avalar. Chameleons attack Spyro by lashing their tongues at him. If Spyro gets too close, they roll into a ball to defend themselves. They can only be killed if burned ash-black by a [flame]] breath attack and then attacked by charge or chi-moves.
