DBX9 Rocket Launchers were the original primary weapon used by Sgt. Byrd in war. They were used to shoot rockets at the enemy.
At some point, he exchanged them for a more reliable Rocket Launcher Jetpack, which also enabled him to fly, taking the pressure away from his wings.
