Trivia
- Metropolis is paired with Robotica Farms. An early name for the realm, found in the data for the earliest demo build, was "Metropolis Spires". Similarly, Robotica Farms was to be called "Metropolis Acres".
- A city that appeared in a few games in the Ratchet & Clank series was named after this realm.
- The background in this realm is very similar to Artisans.
- Metropolis' powerup gate only needs one Spirit Particle to activate it, the lowest of any level in the game (followed by Zephyr and Magma Cone, which need two). However, the gate cannot be reached while inactive as the Rocket Pigs blow themselves up when Spyro gets close. The inactive gate can only be seen if Spyro defeats an enemy and quickly returns to the first room and closely looks at the gate in the distance. In spite of that, the Inventor Droid has hidden dialogue if Spyro were to reach her without a single Particle, and won't award him the "Conquer invading cows" orb until an enemy is defeated. This dialogue is also present in the Reignited Trilogy.
- This is the only level in the game to contain a combo power up gate. A combo powerup gate can be found once again in a side mission in the Fireworks Factory level in Spyro: Year of the Dragon, as well as in the Super Bonus Round in the same game.
- The fodder in this level are incompletely hatched eggs with walking chicken feet sticking out, this resembles that of Sheldon from the comic strip U.S. Acres and animated TV series Garfield and Friends. In addition they share the same running and idle animation with the Snowballs from Crystal Glacier.
- In Year of the Dragon, the Flying Sheep Saucers make several cameos exclusively in the Speedway. They also make a return in Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly, where they can be seen in Crop Circle Country, which is a farm-themed level full of barns, haystacks, and UFOs. It could possibly be homage to both Metropolis and Robotica Farms. However the NPCs in Crop Circle are the same farmers seen in Country Speedway.
