Jackals[1] are dog-like enemies that are only found in the Haunted Tomb in Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

Characteristics

Physical Appearance

Jackals are dark blue canines made of statue material. They have green eyes and wear chest-plates to absorb flames, but are usually statue-like when they blink and look around, and stand firm when they don't move.

Behavior

If Spyro gets too close to a Jackal, they will come alive and attack him by charging toward him with their sharp pointed ears.

Tactics

Jackals can only be killed by charging at them, due to the armored chest-plates that they wear to absorb flames. Other times, they can be killed by getting headbashed when Spyro is in the air and on top of them.
