Glimmer is a realm in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. It is the starting point of the game, and unlike other installments that has a home world as starting points, Glimmer is the very first location visited by Spyro, something that is even referenced in the game's European title, Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer. Glimmer's portal is located in Summer Forest. It is where Spyro briefly meets several of Avalar's inhabitants, including Hunter, Elora, the Professor, Zoe, and even Ripto.
Just after Spyro's arrival in in their realm, the Gemcutters are being terrorized by a mob of lizards who are stealing their gems, and they request Spyro to stop them.
