Magnus is a dragon from Peace Keepers in Spyro the Dragon.
Physical Appearance
Original Design (1998)
Magnus is a brown dragon with dark-colored spots and red wings. He shares the same character model as Enzo and Maximos.
Reignited Design (2018)
In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Magnus is now rotund and reddish orange-colored, with several spikes around his body, resembling a Horned Lizard or a Thorny Devil, reddish wings and a tuft of hair or spikes that resembles a topknot. He wears a necklace and a loincloth resembling a yokozuna's rope, with the armor plates in front similar to the strips on the belt. His appearance and the poses he strikes are now reminiscent of a sumo wrestler's.
Story
Spyro the Dragon
Magnus was freed by Spyro, who was the only dragon to have avoided the crystallisation due to his small size. Magnus then reminded Spyro about his pal, Sparx the Dragonfly, hinting the young dragon that feeding the young dragonfly butterflies will restore his health.

Trivia
General
- Once the player defeats Gnasty Gnorc the first time, Magnus appears in the platform in the middle of the Gnorc Gnexus hubworld replacing Delbin, resulting in the latter becoming permanently removed from the world.
Original Game
- Magnus, after being freed a second time in the first game, looks a little different and sounds different.
- His wings are a darker color and his voice changed.
- In the NTSC version his horns are brown, unlike other versions.
- In the unreleased June prototype, Magnus's horns are brown instead of yellow.
- Spyro answers Magnus in Peace Keepers with an "I can do that."
- In the prototype, he does not appear in Gnorc Gnexus.
Reignited Trilogy
- When designing Magnus for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Devon Cady-Lee used a combination of bearded dragons, molochs and horned lizards, with references to Sumo and Polynesian outfits to go for the feeling of a dragon that can fight with his bare-hands.[2]
