They look like cute little puppies when a lantern is on but when the lantern is put out, they become a big scary red dog that tries to eat Spyro and then spit him out. The smaller versions can still attack Spyro though. The small version can be defeated by flame or charge, the larger version can only be defeated by flame. Their large version behave similarly to the [[Killer Plants]] of [[Misty Bog]].

Their large version behave similarly to the Killer Plants of Misty Bog.
