Red Thieves are theieves that are only found in certian supercharge areas. In Spyro the Dragon, one appeared in the level, Tree Tops in the Beast Makers world. The player would chase the thief throughout the level until the end of the level, in which the player would only get a pink gem from it.
Later in Spyro: Year of the Dragon, it reappeared in the Molten Crater bonus level, where instead of it holding a gem, it would hold one of the two dragon eggs avaliable in the bonus area. According to one of the characters, they are much faster than a normal thief.
