Key Thieves are variant of Thief that carry keys that are required to unlock certain points of interest. In Gnasty Gnorc, Spyro would need to chase down two Key Thieves: one to unlock the second door containing another Key Thief, and the last to unlock the stairway leading up to Gnasty Gnorc's perch.
In Gnasty's Loot, purple Key Thieves need to chased down in order to unlock higher sections of the treasure hoard that will allow Spyro to cover more ground by flight.
