Template:Items (Original) Orbs are special items that appeared in the first two Spyro games, Spyro the Dragon and Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. They later reappeared in the Skylanders series as part of the treasure.
Spyro the Dragon
In Spyro the Dragon, orbs are items that are collected after you defeated an enemy you vanquished before. After an enemy is killed once (thieves or bosses too), the enemy will drop a silver orb (sometimes a silver dragon, which give you an extra life; or butterfly if Sparx's health is not gold) in subsequent kills. Collecting twenty of those silver orbs results in earning an extra life. The silver dragons that give you an extra life can also be found inside purple clamshell chests.
