1-Up Chests[1] are an object found in Spyro the Dragon. They are purple-scaled chests that contain a silver dragon statue representing an extra life. An unidentifiable creature inside within the 1-Up Chest, and it is only seen by its eyes. In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy remake, its eye color is light blue, and it has six purple, monster-like fingers, three on each side. Spyro can break open a 1-Up Chest to obtain the dragon statue within.
Locations and uses
1-Up Chests can be found in various realms and home worlds, the first one being found in the hedge maze near Dark Hollow. Each time the chest opens itself, a pair of eyes can be seen looking around before the chest closes shut again, hinting that a creature may reside inside. If broken open, the 1-Up Chests reveal a silver dragon statue inside, which will grant Spyro an extra life if collected.
