Spyro flying

Flight is one of Spyro's unique abilities. Being a dragon, he is able to fly freely using his wings, but only free flies in certain levels such as Speedways.

Original Spyro series

In the Original Spyro series, Spyro is able to free fly in Speedways and certain special levels throughout the series.

A Superfly powerup is available in some of the Spyro games, temporarily allowing Spyro to fly freely.

The Legend of Spyro series

The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning

After teaching Spyro the art of Fire, Ignitus helps Spyro gain his ability to fly. Spyro flies his way to Dante's Freezer in the level, First Flight, and later flies through the eruption of Boyzitbig on Munitions Forge to get away from Cynder.

The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon

Spyro and Cynder are able to fly at anytime, making Dawn of the Dragon the first Spyro game to have free-flight available throughout the game.

Skylanders

In Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, one of Spyro's upgrades is Flight. Upon acquiring this upgrade, Spyro can fly at any time, but can only fly a little above the ground. Other Skylanders who have the Flight upgrade will have this ability as well:

• Sonic Boom
• Drobot
• Whirlwind
• Cynder
• Warnado
• Dark Spyro
• Legendary Spyro
• Double Trouble (flies over water using his Waterwalker upgrade)

It is also mentioned in one of the Story Scrolls that Chompies can fly as well, if they drink enough fizzy juice.
