Shepherd
Template:Enemy Infobox (Spyro the Dragon)
Shepherds (also known as Ram Keepers) are the caretakers of the rams and sheep. They are seen wearing brown cloaks and wizard-like hats. They are found in Stone Hill, Toasty, and Dragonfly Falls.
Description
The shepherds protect their rams and sheep rather aggressively, and won't hesitate in whacking Spyro with their canes. They also work with dogs, as seen in Toasty. In Spyro the Dragon, they are found in both Stone Hill and Toasty. In the former, they guard their sheep while they let their rams roam free, while in the latter, they and their dogs try and prevent Spyro from making it to boss Toasty. In Spyro: A Hero's Tail, they only appear with goats in Dragonfly Falls.
Traits, Appearance, and Abilities
Shepherds are considered to have ninja-like abilities, and they can easily hit Spyro with their staffs if he comes too close. It is easy to flame them from right outside their staff's range, or simply run at them with a well-aimed charge before they have a chance to attack.
In Stone Hill, the shepherds are guarded by rams who will charge at Spyro. In Toasty, they are guarded by dogs, which require an extra amount of caution. They are shown in charge of goats in Spyro: A Hero's Tail.
Strategy
Despite the shepherd's fairly-large attack range, it can easily be avoided. It is usually best to flame them before they can attack, though charging does work and is a fair alternative. If you are in Toasty, flame the dogs first.
Trivia
- Though there are many names for this kind of Gnorc, the official term is "Common Gnorc".
