This article is about the enemies in the original Spyro series. For the enemies from The Legend of Spyro series, see Troll (A New Beginning). For the Skylanders franchise, see Troll (Skylanders).

Trolls
World Cloud Temples
Scorch's Pit
First appearance Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!

Trolls are creatures that are either friendly or downright nasty. They first appeared in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!.

Original series

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!

Trolls are playful little creatures that inhabit Cloud Temples (mostly). Due to the carelessness of one of the Wizards, the trolls in Cloud Temples have flaming backsides which cannot be doused (even when the troll is frozen). A wizard in the Cloud Temples offers you an orb to freeze the trolls and ring the bells in the bell tower.

Spyro: Year of the Dragon

Some Trolls are hatched from eggs created by Scorch, serving him. These trolls appear in Spyro: Year of the Dragon. The trolls Spyro fights when facing Scorch differ significantly from the friendly ones in Cloud Temples. They appear to be made entirely of fire. This particular species of Troll, nicknamed by fans as a “Burning Smiley”, can only self-destruct on its target as its only form of attack.

The data for both Scorch's Pit and Sorceress' Lair contains an unused troll variant. It has no AI and is only programmed to run in place.
