Template:Q Astor (アスター=グリロジーン Asutā in Japanese) is an Artisan dragon who first appeared in Spyro the Dragon, then later on appeared in Spyro: A Hero's Tail as a Dragon Elder. In the latter, he appeared in the Ice Citadel and taught Spyro how to Wall Kick.

Story

Gnasty Gnorc's Revenge

At the begining of the first game in the series, Astor is interviewd by DNN. Lindar appears and begins to say words that mocked and insulted Gnasty Gnorc, calling him a "no threat" and ugly! As a result, Astor and the other dragons (but Spyro) were turned into crystal statues. He was later saved by Spyro and Sparx at Stone Hill.

After completing Gnasty's Loot, Astor and Lindar can be seen in the background in the final cutscene playing sheepball, only for both of them to be turned into crystal statues again by an offscreen character. (Here we go again...)

Year of the Dragon

Astor trying to pull his friend out of a hole

Astor appeared at the begining of Spyro: Year of the Dragon. Bianca thought he was waking up when she was stealing the last of the dragon eggs from the Dragons, but he was just moving in his sleep. Astor did indeed wake up when heard Hunter's wail of pain when Bianca stepped onto his tail. In the next scene with the Dragon Elders, Astor is shown trying to pull another dragon (apparently Lindar) out of a hole.

A Hero's Tail

Template:Q Years later, Astor was imprisoned by Red at the Ice Citadel. Once again, Spyro freed him by smashing a Dark Gem above the dungeon. Astor then taught him the Wall Kick abillity.

In the secret ending, Astor was seen watching the end credits with the other Dragon Elders. He complains that the voice actors of the other elders were "just plain awful", and insults Magnus when the latter believed to have accepted a sandwich offer, calling him a deaf coot.

Shadow Legacy

Astor reappeared in Shadow Legacy. After Spyro saves him and the other elders from the Shadow Realm, Astor volunteers to teach Spyro enhanced Fire and Ice Breaths whenever he levels up.

Trivia

  • Much like how Spyro and Sparx are (and Titan and Red were prior to A Hero's Tail), it is apparant that Lindar and Astor are best friends, since they are often seen together, they were rescued in the same realm, and they were playing sheepball at the end of the first game (until they were turned into crystal statues again).
  • In the opening movie and in the game, Astor's voice sounds different.
