Fairy Kiss
- “Hey Spyro, all dragons know there's magic in a fairy's kiss. See what it can do to your power of flame.”
- – Kosoko
This type of Superflame is acquired when Spyro is kissed by special fairies found in High Caves and Haunted Towers called Flame Fairies. In Haunted Towers, there is also a flame fairy who appeared much taller than the other fairies and wore a yellow dress. The effects from her kiss are infinite and lasts until you left the Haunted Towers realm.
Once kissed, Spyro turns red, and his flame becomes white hot. He is able to destroy metal objects, such as large chests, lock chests, metal doors, and metal enemies. When the superflame power runs out, Spyro would flash back and forth between red and purple intermittenly, then he would be normal again.
In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, getting the superflame powerup turns Spyro pink, his horns, wings and tail spike glow pink and he gains pink stripes.
Regular Superflame
This variant of Superflame was introduced in Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!. Upon going through a Superflame powerup gate or acquiring a superflame orb, Spyro turns red and his flame breath turns into fireballs that are more effective than any of his standard attacks, and are capable of breaking open metal crates and the most impossible metaled enemies. It is also useful shooting down distant targets. Superflame even works underwater where it is depicted as a star-like projectile in the original PlayStation games. In Ripto's Rage!, Spyro unlocks a permanent Superflame in Dragon Shores upon 100% completion. This is the more commonly thought of Superflame.
In the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, getting the Superflame powerup gives Spyro glowing yellow horns, wings, tail spike, and yellow stripes.
